ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
The distinguishing factor
of The Practical Grappler curriculum is the offer of effective
materials and products to a market that has been saturated with
tapes that randomly teach techniques, without regard to a workable
sequence.
The Practical Grappler course is much more than just a purposeless
grouping of submission wrestling moves. This is an unbiased,
smart and functional course, which to a large degree benefits
everyone of all experience levels.
This course has minimized the time, effort and monetary investment
required to become a proficient and effective submission wrestler
by reducing the grappling syllabus to its fundamental essence.
It focuses on the core elements of grappling, and how to make
these elements work.
Understand that simply having a vast knowledge of techniques
is useless if you can't achieve the proper sequence to execute
them or defend against your opponent's offense. The Practical
Grappler curriculum will reveal to you "missing pieces"
in your grappling game that will quickly allow you to become
more competitive and successful.
The research group behind the development of this program has
over 45 years of combined grappling experience. In addition to
drawing from the group's own experience, further research was
gathered at a substantial expense from various well-known sources
in the grappling profession. Once this painstaking process was
completed, our research group began testing each technique for
simplicity and practicality. After testing was complete, these
techniques were placed in the most logical order to accelerate
the teaching and learning process.
Please note that although
many techniques from the Practical Grappler series are applicable
or identical to techniques that would be used in striking situations,
striking is not explicitly covered in this series.
"THE
LOGO"
The shield logo of this
program represents the four major traits which encompass a proficient
and competent grappler. These major traits, in no particular
order include: patience, speed, logic, and power. "Patience" in this context relates to the utilization of time.
Knowing exactly when to use a move is as equally important as
knowing how to use a move. "Speed" is a factor which can be improved
to enhance anyone's skills, however having great anticipation
gives the illusion of speed but only if you are well versed.
"Logic" in this sense simply means having
a clear thought process. Even in the midst of training or competition
it's crucial that we maintain focus and awareness. "Power" or strength is an asset for the minority but can
be developed to an extent through certain training. In the wrestling
context power and strength are sometimes confused with knowing
the correct leverage points and using your body weight and gravity
the proper way.
